It has been said the darkest hour is just before dawn, but if we hold on until dawn, a breakthrough will come. This is meant to encourage us to hold on, no matter the circumstance. But how does one do this when your world seems to be turned upside down, inside out, and the storms of life continue to come?
As I sit and write this, there are so many thoughts running in my mind. I look around the world around me. It appears that so many people are not going through, but simply in the midst of trials and tribulations. It is so much, I can’t even say “going through” because it appears that the storm is at a standstill. From people’s health, to finance, to death, you name it, someone is experiencing hardship. And while we know that these are temporary things, it does not take away from the fact the experience is very much present, and happening in real time.
Waiting for the dawn and breakthrough can be hard. This is a serious test of faith and endurance. How does one find joy, peace, and contentment, while in the midst of the storm? I think about Paul and Silas, locked in prison, for doing what was right. They continued to praise God. And while in the midst of their singING and praisING God, out of what appeared to be nowhere, the breakthrough happened. Their chains were broken, and they were freed. Now what strikes me, is they were freed from the chains, and yet they remained where they were. It was almost as if they were having such a good time praising God, they forgot about their troubles. Their worship was greater than their worry. Their praise was greater than their problems.
I can only imagine what the other prisoners were thinking and experiencing as Paul and Silas praised God. They were watching Paul and Silas praising and worshiping, even while going through. Not only did they experience the “midnight prayer service” of Paul and Silas, but they experienced the residual blessing of Paul and Silas, as the earthquake caused all the chains to be loose.
As we go through this journey of life, remember, people are watching us. No matter how big the problem is, let’s make our worship greater than the worry, and our praise greater than the problem. And as we praise, and worship, watch not only us be blessed, but those around us experience the overflow and residuals of our blessing. Choose to worship! Choose to praise!
#Worship>Worry. #Praise>Problem
